A Few Guest Comments

Thank you for the lovely getaway at Coffee Creek Chalet. Both Bill and I were more than ready for this trip, and as always, it was the perfect spot to kick back and recharge. Bill seemed to enjoy the creek even more than usual. Thanks for your hospitality and for all the little things you do to make the place so pleasant and comfortable.

Thank you for such a pretty and relaxing “base” for our week’s stay. Such richness and diversity in one area! Highlights for us were hiking to Eleanor Lake and Boulder Lakes, immersing ourselves in local history at the Scott Museum, savoring the tastes and views at Alpen Cellars Winery, and cooling off in swimming holes along the way.

We have enjoyed our stay at your charming Chalet! The serene background music of the creek running was something remarkable. It has not only been relaxing, but beautiful as well. We enjoyed discovering the flora, fauna and history of this uniquely beautiful area.
Some of our favorite memories will be the family hikes we took to Boulder & Little Boulder lakes, and Lake Eleanor—swimming in Coffee Creek and the Trinity River—Exploring the Bowerman Barn and the Scott Museum—and learning about the rich gold rush history. The flowers and butterflies are something we hope to learn more about.
As first time visitors to this area we can truly say we are hooked! We look forward to coming again to enjoy serene relaxation and nature’s wonder.

For us, this has been a return to our roots, to a time when no lake existed, to a time when a little redheaded girl ran and jumped and tried to fly in these mountain meadows and forested vistas.
For the coming generation (our grandkids), playing in the creek was the favored choice of all the possible activities.
And for all of us, a perfect night’s sleep every night.

Thanks for a wonderful week. This was our first trip to the area, and we couldn’t have found another place to stay that was better suited to our family’s temperament—and our vacation needs and hopes.
Highlights included a hike to Stoddard Lake—with fishing and swimming; a day spent exploring Weaverville; water play on Trinity Lake; and late–night stargazing on your lawn. We’ll be back.

Thanks for sharing your space with us this week. We loved the hammock, the creek and the horseshoe pit.

What a beautiful spot you found here in Coffee Creek. We just love the Chalet and the surrounding scenery. We wish we could have done more exploring, but we spent most of our time here looking for "retirement" property. We think we may have found a suitable parcel in Weaverville!!
Thank you for providing everything we needed. Driving the long road up from various locations (Susanville, Redding, etc.) didn’t seem so bad knowing we were coming "home" to the Coffee Creek Chalet.

We came to Coffee Creek looking for quiet, white Christmas, and that is what we got.
For the first few days we got sunny days, then snow for a couple of days (1–2ft.) followed by rain. The snow brought a little adventure in the form of difficult roads (luckily our 4WD managed) and power outages. Thanks to Robert even blackouts were no problem when he started the generator.
We went for short walks almost every day, regardless of the weather.
Most of the time we just relaxed inside enjoying the fireplace, good food—lots and lots of it—videos and books.
We leave well rested, ready for the hectic times as new parents—Virpi is 8 months pregnant.

What a treat—and re–treat this has been! With a 7–year–old girl and 5–and–a–half–year old boy, there are not too many places we all can go to enjoy and relax. The Chalet fit us just right. We all LOVED the swimming hole down stream…absolutely beautiful. The kids both caught trout at the Carville Pond. And, it was always nice to come back to the beautiful yard and views here at the Chalet.

Cesna’s thank you very much for sharing your beautiful retreat with us. We have thoroughly enjoyed our week here. The cabin is most comfortable and we have felt very much at home. We have enjoyed the boating on Trinity Lake and the special beauty of Coffee Creek. Yesterday we floated down the mild rapids of Trinity River. It has been a great week, and once again thank you.

Our second visit to the Coffee Creek Chalet was a joy. There is so much to do and not enough time. We all were able to spend time with what we wanted to do most—fishing, horseback riding, and painting. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality.

We had a wonderful week here—thanks for having us. Great hikes to 5 lakes—Stoddard, Adams, Sugar Pine, Tangle Blue, and Big Bear. All super beautiful—even in the snow one day. Your place at Coffee Creek is great. We want to come back again.

Wow, what great hosts you both are & the Chalet is a perfect match for us! Quiet, secluded and just beautiful. Rob and I fly–fished every day (although it was news to me that fly–fishing also demanded its share of hiking). We loved the bench by the creek to sit with morning coffee or a cool drink in the afternoon. We even saw the smallest fawn run up to us ‘til he realized we were there and “high-tailed” it back to mom!!!
The hammock, the creek, snow capped mountains…definitely on our priority list of places to return to.

We really enjoyed our days in your beautiful chalet. We easily felt at home here and enjoyed the silence, the “sleeping” couch and the big easy chairs. The views here are great, although it was a little foggy and more hilly that what we are used to seeing back home in the Netherlands.
And, what we hoped for—a white Christmas!
